Mother Nature: Take A Smoke Break Or Something

Hurricane Wilma hit Florida earlier this afternoon. Thankfully, residents were prepared. I think Katrina scared the shit out of everyone this year and made us take natural disasters seriously - the only possible good thing that I think came out of that awful situation.

This is the...I don't know - fourth, fifth, eighteenth - hurricane to hit South Florida specifically this year. My parents, who reside in this area for half the year - have had to deal with thousands upon thousands of dollars worth of damage to their home, not to mention constant worrying and phone calls to and from their friends and neighbors who reside in the area year-round.

And they are lucky compared to many.

Many people have lost homes, family members, and lives. I'd just like to take a moment, in the hopes that this will be the last disaster of the season (Alpha - go away) to ask that we all show some compassion and wish those who have endured misfortune due to this hurricane season a speedy and successful recovery.
