iPod Playlist, January 2005

Lord, this is so random...some are new, some are re-discovered, and some are downright embarrassing, but that's the chance you take when you practice journalistic integrity. I must post what is true to the playlist:

Dare You To Move - Switchfoot
Let's Get It Started - Black Eyed Peas
You and I Both - Jason Mraz
My Place - Nelly
Your Eyes Open - Keane
You and Me - J-Kwon
Extraordinary - Liz Phair
True - Ryan Cabrera ?

Note:(hide)
Chris, how dumb is this song, but it makes me think of our NYE conversation, and um, yes, I totally love you.

Take Me Out - Franz Ferdinand
My Boo - Usher and Alicia Keys
This is the Last Time - Keane
Such Great Heights - The Postal Service
Destiny - Zero 7

And finally, my personal favorite, TQ's "Westside". Anyone remember this from '98? I was looking something random up on iTunes and downloaded this one again. So good, really quite the anthem of our times.

Hey, good to see you. Thanks for the list...I saved any suggestions I didn't already have (I had about half of what you suggested in my library already) as a wish list for when I have time to download. I will check it out and update you. While you're commenting, anything to add to anything else I've posted on here? Commenting has been pretty dry lately.

Is it me or is it impossible to get free music anymore?
I mean, freaking Kazaa and Bearshare just jack your computer w/ adware and most of the songs are chopped up versions.
Any suggestions?

For what it's worth, I was a big fan of Morpheus, but after three months, it was on the fritz 24/7. I'll do some hunting around and see what I can find on this.

I like John's and Karen's play lists as I am a fan of the brit-rock too. I'd also like to suggest these tunes of which I listen:

Ocean Breathes Salty - Modest Mouse
Coin Operated Boy - Dresden Dolls
Know Your Rights - The Clash
Pretty Green - The Jam
Boys Don't Cry - The Cure
She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy - I have no idea

I'm surprised that Travis hasn't come up. I know they're soooo 2001, but they epitomize good modern Brit rock.

Also, I was listening to Beck's "Midnite Vultures" (2001) this morning - the whole album is great. It's not Brit-rock, per se, but should be duly noted.
