Men By the Herd
I've always heard a lot of complaints from guys about girls traveling in groups. "Why do you always travel in herds? It makes girls so hard to approach when they're with like, 5 of their closest girlfriends."Seriously?
I have noticed, especially recently, how many guys I see out in herds. Droves. Packs, if you will. Is this a new trend? Have guys always gone out in groups of 10? Or does every group of friends coincidentally have a bachelor's party or a birthday to celebrate every single weekend?
Last weekend, we were hanging out with a group of at least 6 guys. Now, they approached us, which is great, because once approached, we now have fantastic odds, and barring unforeseen skanks, our pick of the litter so to speak. (I can't believe I just likened men to kittens, but whatever, it fit.) But when 6 dudes just hang out and play pool, either they'd best be expecting a nice, boring night with their friends, or they're going to be sorely disappointed. I don't know how many girls would respond to, much less approach, a guy who is out with a huge group of male friends. It's definitely weird, especially if the guy goal is to pick someone up.
I've heard so many complaints about girls being unapproachable by virtue of traveling in herds, but guys, don't you think this cuts both ways? Why do you feel the need to have 10 of your buddies back you up at a bar? Is the purpose of going out with a bunch of guys to establish some home base you can go back to in the event that you strike out? Explanations would be helpful.
