19 boxes, 16 Bags of Trash, and a Bum Knee

I love you baby, but it's not you, it's me.

And now, a bit of reflection time: My jobs (current and future) require me to be excellent with math. As a result, an embarrassingly bad habit has resulted - looking at everything as an equation. To summarize my experience in Chicago, let's take a quick look at the variables -

-3 year residence
-2 years of graduate school
-1 1/2 years at the Food Network
-1 roommate
-2 boyfriends
-2 "situations" involving boys with girlfriends
-371 late nights out involving drunk dialing and cheeseburgers

has now been dramatically reduced to

-19 boxes
-16 bags of trash
-1 M.A. in Advertising and Public Relations
-1 paragraph longer on my resume
-2 really great nights with a perfect guy, three nights before I move
-1 bum knee

Wait, a bum knee? Yes, I am having knee problems. What, did I magically turn 74 without knowing it? My knee is f*cking killing me. My friends have their suspicions as to the cause of injury, but rest assured, I'm almost positive said injury occurred sometime between dumping a bag of trash over myself and getting up for a second bowl of ice cream, honestly. We all know that this mysterious knee pain, located just northwest of my left patella, is clearly not a result of all of the sports I've been playing, or the hours I spent working overtime. But it is sad, nonetheless.

I hope that with one knee out of commission, this doesn't affect the start of my new era, although I do foresee some lifting and unpacking problems in my immediate future. I have tried to look up my symptoms on WebMD as a method of self-diagnosis, but the terms "crazy", "psychosomatic disorders", "stress", and "tired" are the only results. Hmm. Fishy.

With that said, have a great weekend, and use protection. Next post will be early next week, live from Atlanta, Georgia. Chicago, I'm out. Thanks for a great three years. See you on the flip side.

San, I love you.

B, I love you too.

I will miss you guys. A lot. Open visitation policy, though - my apartment complex pool has a cascading rock waterfall in it. I don't know what that means, but doesn't it sound fancy?

I leave tomorrow morning at 10 am.

Karen, good luck. And you had better not go to any movies down there!

Karen, I hope you have a safe move and that your blog moves with you to Atlanta. I'm sure Atlanta will have just as much fodder for the Drama Queen.

Thank you for the well wishes! More blogging to come. I apologize for the delay, but it is hard to post when you have not had an internet connection until now. Keep checking tonight/tomorrow.

Hope you enjoy Atlanta. I am just nervous anytime someone moves from a Blue state to a Red state. Then again, I guess its good that Georgia just picked up a Hillary vote
