I'm An 00s Kind of Girl And I Can Steam-Clean My Own Carpet, Thank You

After much thought, I took matters into my own hands today and steam-cleaned my carpet.

And Good Lord, am I sore.

Every now and then I get a little keyed-up and need to take on a project. The last time I did this I organized my iTunes playlist by artist, title, album, and year. I looked every missing piece up on Amazon and filled it in so I could organize it fully.

I've lived in my apartment for a year and a half, and while I am a compulsive cleaner - I mean, ridiculous amounts of cleaning regularly - I haven't done any deep cleaning. Usually, my carpet gets a little carpet powder and vacuum, but even so, it's been riddled with marks of my history. And it was time for a clean sweep (pun intended).

So today, I hopped on over to my brand-new (and very convenient) Publix and rented the Rug Doctor. The Rug Doctor is supposed to take care of all of my carpet needs. And it sure did.

I spent five hours going over the carpet, the couch, the kitchen floor. I was throwing anything in front of the Rug Doctor that I thought it could fix. It was just like having a man around the house to fix stuff and make it nice, except for not at all. A man would have clearly been much better. I couldn't sleep with the Rug Doctor. I tried, but to no avail. He was only good for cleaning, but ultimately, I realized that was good enough.

My whole body aches and I feel like I just ran a marathon. But my carpets are clean and smell good and I feel a deep-seated, pleasant sense of self-satisfaction.

Ahhhh.
