New York Did Rock
Odd to come back from a four-day "vacation" more exhausted than before you left. New York - great town. Could never ever ever live there, though. It's way too fast-paced, and definitely not even remotely comparable to Chicago in terms of life pace, or (sadly for Chicago) coolness quotient. Everyone I know living there loves it, but I would pass out from sheer f*cking exhaustion if my ass ever lived there permanently. And if I think I'm broke here...Among the highlights of the trip (just thought I'd share):
- Eating Afghani food, which ignorantly enough, I didn't think existed, save for the rice meal you buy for poor kids when Sally Struthers is on tv and they write you letters and send pictures of themselves smiling, with flies on their faces. It's actually a lot like Indian food, except for with a lot more pomegranate.
- Walking around Times Square for two hours with my fly down (thanks to Beth for pointing this out to me two hours after the fact while shopping at H&M)
- Hanging out at a hookah bar and smoking apple tobacco
- A Prada bag, a Louis Vuitton bag, and a wallet = $85. Enough said.
Good times had, but I'm glad I'm home.
