The Aftermath

As predicted, Ghostbar did suck as badly as I had expected. Interestingly enough, it was an older crowd...particularly on the dance floor, where about ten forty year olds were wearing these glowing pins and doing a dance that looked strangely like the Hava Nagila. For a moment, I was convinced that I had accidentally walked in on the Greenbaum bar mitzvah or something. I was embarrassed for them, really. Thankfully, we went to two "more normal" bars after that, which salvaged the night. I got home at 4 in a pretty interesting state...I have no idea how I'm up right now.

At Ghostbar, though, after a couple of drinks, I proceeded to have a "dance off" with some guy wearing Armani Exchange Outlet head to toe and a cell phone on a belt clip (note: cell phones worn on belt clips are a dealbreaker for any guy whatsoever - even if he's a doctor). We had about fifteen people crowded around us when he tried to outdo me by spinning around on the ground on his back, breakdance style, and the bouncers threw him off the dance floor for endangering other patrons. I won!

Surprisingly, I only ran into one guy I've ever hooked up with in college, Rob (popular name, I guess), and another guy I went to some fraternity formal with, Jon. Neither one of them looked very good, which was bad for them and good for me. I also apparently insisted that Dr. Rob meet me at an old hangout we used to go to, but then I left the bar by the time he called me to say he was on his way. If memory serves me right, I was bitched out over the phone and promptly hung up. Whoops.

And this morning, I turned on my iTunes to discover that I have downloaded three different versions of Tesla "Love Song". Now, why I felt compelled to download three different versions, I'm not sure, but the song was playing at the bar last night and I made a mental note to myself to download it, because it's one of those songs that falls squarely into the "Songs That Should Suck But Don't" Category. At least I'm downloading songs instead of calling people, though. In the long run though, better to be a drunk downloader than a drunk dialer.
