Astrology - What A Crock

Small pleasures buzzkill: one thing I enjoy more than almost anything is reading my horoscope via email every day. Call me crazy, but it usually gives me hope for the day ahead, because horoscopes usually don't predict freak accidents, credit problems, hissy fits at work, or herpes. (Not that I have any of those, knock on wood.) And I like that. I like that my horoscope usually talks about how productive I'll be, or a small financial gain, or whatever.

But lately they've been sending my horoscope to me the night before, and when I read tomorrow's just now, I about threw my laptop across the room. It said:

A love partner may have heard some great news about a career success today, and could want to take you out to celebrate. Go - no matter what else you have to reschedule! Your friend is in a great mood, looks wonderful, and is feeling very passionate and sexy. If you want a night to remember, don't let this chance pass you by. And also make sure that you look your very best!

Ok, Mr. Clairvoyant Asshole. I don't have a love partner (unless you count the guy from last weekend), the love partner I don't have probably wouldn't have career news anyway, and the last time I was taken out to celebrate was when Tim and I went to Fiesta Mexicana on Mariachi Night and he paid for me because I spent a good 15 minutes at dinner telling him that I had been maxing out my credit card and my overtime check hadn't been direct-deposited yet. So thanks for reminding me, or at least predicting, that some crazy shit that is not going to happen should be happening. I think I will eat that third cookie now.

Granted, tomorrow is St. Patrick's Day (and the first day of the ball-o-licious NCAA Tournament), and I do have plans to go out, but certainly not with a significant other who is going to announce some great career shit and then rub me down in oils while we listen to Spandau Ballet. (They're the obscure band that sang that 80s song "True", in case you were wondering.)

It has put a bit of a damper going into tomorrow, but it has been counterbalanced by my realization that "The O.C." is on. Holla.

Thanks for offering your bf, but I already have dinner plans with my supposed love partner.

Also, I doubt Dan would be as obsessed with me as he is with you.
