It's the small things in life, I tell you. After a particularly rough morning, I am taking my lunch break now (3 pm CST, in case you're not paying attention to the time of this post). This is not unusual - yesterday, I finished my sandwich at 4 pm - but I felt the need to tell you that for some reason.

Anyway, I was so excited about the lunch I just ate that I had to post. There is a Middle Eastern place in our building's food court that makes the best bagels in the AM. Sometimes I'll grab a bagel in the morning, particularly if I'm hung over, but usually I never eat there for any other meal, because I am a creature of habit, and they just aren't one of my lunchtime habits.

But today, I decided to stay from my usual soup-and-sandwich for lunch and order these chicken-and-roasted-pepper skewers with rice instead. And let me tell you - this particular brand of shishkabob is like a mind eraser. The second I started eating, I completely forgot about the shitty morning I was having, and now that I've finished, I have blanked completely on what I have to tackle this afternoon, because I'm still thinking about how good they were.

I will say it once, and I'll say it again: Nothing beats meat on a stick.
