A Pretty Good Weekend

I'll admit at the outset of this writing that I don't have anything major to report. In fact, I was pretty much useless until this morning, when my Friday night hangover wore off.

There's nothing like breaking in your new co-workers with a taste of what you're like when you're drunk. We had a big happy hour on Friday, and initially, my strategy was to break them in nice and easy. This was not so. In fact, my strategy turned into "let it all hang out" so that next time, I'll look tame by comparison.

Here's a little math lesson for you - if you add the following:
5 vodka tonics
1 shot Jager
1 shot redheaded slut
2 shots buttery nipples
1 shot tequila
$15 cab fare to retrieve car the next morning
$60 tab you had to have Co-Worker Jeff sign because you couldn't read the numbers right
18 drunken phone calls, some of which were repeat calls to people I had forgotten I had dialed before...

you get 1 crazy night that ends up with you waking up at 4 am on the floor of your hallway next to the bathroom with a down comforter and a pillow, 3 wee hours of the am spent getting sick, 1 Arby's hangover meal that was only purchased because you were too lazy to drive a little bit farther to get to Chick-Fil-A, and a wicked hangover that renders you useless until Sunday. Yikes.

So that said, I took it easy last night and went out for a really great girls-only dinner with Amy and another friend. We went to a really good tapas/sushi restaurant and proceeded to order the entire menu. Expensive, but totally worth it. The drinks were also good, or so I hear, as I was chugging glass upon glass of water the entire evening, trying to remember if I had said or done anything mortifying. I came to the conclusion that since I couldn't remember, I haven't. I'm satisfied with that.

Next up: Cinco de Mayo. I think my work is throwing a party for us, so this should, yet again, be interesting. But one thing is for sure: I will not be drinking that much again. Like, ever. In my life.
